| Yesterday afternoon I was out running some errands so I took the heavily modded Z out to stretch her legs so to speak. After a good 5 minute warm up I cruised down to the local convenient store to get a soda. I took the key out and my turbo timer started counting down from the 30 seconds I had it programmed to. I crossed into the store and started walking down the isle saying hi to the store owner I see always. He shouted at me as I rounded the corner saying that someone just hopped in my car. I started running to the door as the car died. My fail safe on the turbo timer is when the e-brake is depressed. I could see the expression on the thief's face as I was at the front of the car. He hopped out and pulled a knife in the attempt to slash and run. Big mistake. The attempted hijacker was 17 years old. He was a black male about 5-7 and I would say about 160 lbs. After I got a hold of him he started screaming he was 17 and if I didn't let him go he was going to sue me for "injuring a minor" as he put it. This was is midair as I slammed him to the pavement. Oops. Kids recover quickly nowadays right? Needless to say I subdued him until the cops arrived. He was a little banged up but I think he'll live. I was at that stupid store for another 45 minutes after that explaining in detail to our cities finest what exactly happened. Lesson learned. I will never again leave my door unlocked while my turbo timer counts down. (even if the guy can't take it) I was less than 20 yards away the whole time in the store but it shows you what can go wrong in a short amount of time. I must admit seeing the kids face as I closed in after the car mysteriously shut off was priceless. I wish I could have had a video crew handy. What really pisses me off is the lack of respect for someone else's property. I hope nothing like this ever happens to any of you. I look forward to meeting the kid's parents.......
